I too have been very disappointed with this blue-ray Samsung BD-P1500 player. Piece of junk. And of course the warranty ran out at 3 months.
So much for up-converting. I see others have had same problems. At 4 months, it would no longer play regular non-HD dvd's.
No software download or tweaking would fix these problems. Had to re-attach the old non-HD player. At 6 months it would no longer play any audio.
Samsung should recall this unit and give us refunds. Yes, I'm mad.
It was completely worth the money, which by the way, was a SUPER deal. There are no faults at all from what I can see.
The box was completely unharmed and the product was in perfect condition. I received my Samsung BD-P1500 1080p Blu-Ray Disc Player in an extremely timely fashion from Amazon.
The picture is so clear and the sound quality will blow you away. It took only a matter of minutes to hook it up to our 42" LG flat panel HDTV television.
Since it's been hooked up, we have gone out and bought several Blu-Ray movies and all look AMAZING being played on our new player. I am very happy that we made this purchase.
I would recommend this player to anyone in the market searching for a reasonably priced high quality Blu-Ray player.
This was one of the cheapest players available and now I know why. So if you get a phone call during a movie - and you pause for awhile you have to restart and fast forward back to where you left off.
My chief complaints are.#1 Lag between audio receiver and television line - I have to turn off the volume on my Television otherwise and I get an "echo".#2 Menu function is often disabled. This is the first blue ray player I have owned and I must say it is a terrible disappointment.
If the disk stops playing or the player is turned off or you pause the movie for any length of time it resets. I cannot leave a movie or feature by hitting escape or menu key.
I have to fast forward through the movie to the end of the feature and then let it end and return to menu so I can change the options.#3 There is no memory function at all. It's very annoying.I would never buy a Samsung product again.
Sets up and runs like a typical DVD player but the output is breathtaking. Seems very reliable and boot time is just slightly slower than a typical DVD player. At the price it's the best blu-ray deal on the net.
No problems so far, Blu-ray Disc player compliments our HD Samsung Television in every way possible. Blu-ray picture is beyond HD and superior to anything I've ever seen. Superb price with free shipping can't beat this bargain at any retailer.
